Since 2003, singer/songwriter BENJI MARTIN has been honing his talents in front of audiences in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. He credits Paul McCartney and the late John Lennon as his inspiration as a songwriter, and his soulful countertenor voice and guitar work has won him comparisons to Neil Young, the Bee Gees, and Staind.
Benji's performance career began in elementary school where he started to sing and dance in assemblies and PTA meetings. He got his first guitar at age 10 and began writing songs more than a decade later.
The Davidson County native has appeared on Talent Search TV, a local talent show, and has performed at TimFest 2009. He as also opened for acts like Megan Jean at open mic nights at the Garage in Winston-Salem. Other artists with whom Benji has worked include Country Dan Collins and the Fun-o-meters, White Light, the Solcet Fre Project's William Trice, and Vel Indica's Patrick Ferguson.
